It is a shame that there is not some sort of coaches poll, set up through the AHSAA/sports writers, that could at least give an educated guess. Then again, there is no way for them(the coaches)to know which kids will wrestle in what weight class. The first poll would need to be set up/voted on around the third or fourth week into the season for the coaches.

That said, I do like the fact that we are talking about wrestling! Last week's discussion about the 113 lb. class should give you an idea of the confusion surrounding where kids will wrestle. Hard to determine who will be where and a lot of them(kids/parents/coaches) don't want to divulge that information.

I am not positive on where all the Lions will be wrestling. I have a good idea, but I am not positive. Should be interesting.

Well let's start debating it anyway.

106 Cunningham vs Latona. They both were very dominate at the Super 32 Qualifier in Georgia.

113 & 120 These seem the most difficult for me with a big group of quality kids. Rogers,Pike,Funkhouser,Dipietro, Clark, and I know I am forgetting a couple of kids.

126 Jaden Hunter vs Killough or Turner

132 A toss up. No idea. Maybe Baker or Gilson. I know both have been working hard this summer.

138 Spurlock vs Hayden-Hill

145 Gilliand vs Hall

152 Mcwhorter vs Jones provided he can make the weight.

Okay what say you?

Note this is merely speculation based on what I saw over the summer and at the super 32 Qualifier.

Not sure Manny deserves to be on the list at this point but thankfully there's still a lot of time and hopefully he'll deserve to be on there somewhere by Feb. Still not sure if he's 182 or 195. That's up to the coach but his weight keeps drifting downward.

220 - Demos will be as high as 2nd here. I would not be surprised if he goes heavyweight and could go that high in either weight. Was really one of the most improved in that class last year in a deeper weight class and while not too flashy has some defensive skills that will keep him competitive in a lot of matches. I believe gibbons at heavyweight has moved out of state.

You also need to throw dasaro in there at I'm assuming 195. Lost an OT match last year at state to shunnarah as a 10th grader. Should have a good improvement year. I think shunnarah is caught in the middle of a couple of tough weights this year as far the as top placers but I see him moving to 220 depending on where lee goes but I can't see Campbell loosing 220.

jones should make 152 pretty easily and graham will be at 160 both will be big for the weight class but mcwhiter actually weighs more than both graham and jones last time we went to Prattville caden stepped on the scale at 170 at least that's what he weighed before practice so I don't think it will be jones that will have the problem getting down I was told shunnarah was going 220 did something change and if that's Richardson from JD at 182 he is going 170 again kid seems to not gain weight through football love the rankings don't think Austin Weldon will be as high as 170 he looked more like a 160 or 152 even and not to start anything but Austin is a good kid but he wont beat Marcus he should place this year for sure
